Food Bank Donations

Throughout December, LCP's Social Committee launched a local food bank drive across our London, Winchester and Edinburgh offices, as part of LCP's Festive Festival.

We were blown away by everyone's support and generosity. Thank you to everyone who helped and supported!

Our London office donated 64 boxes and 1 bag to Westminster Foodbank, which required 2 vans to deliver!

Winchester donated 27 boxes and 1 bag - just one food shop in Winchester alone required 2 cars!

Packed and ready to go, our team in Edinburgh donated 3 boxes and 3 bags - an amazing result!

Volunteering

In-person volunteering is a great opportunity to get involved and give back to your local community. You can take 7 hours of paid volunteering each year.

You can sign up to volunteering opportunities advertised through LCP, or something of your own choosing – just speak to a member of the Giving Back Network in advance to check the opportunity before you take the day (and get approval from your line manager).

Poppy Appeal Volunteering

In London, Angela Barnard and Tierney Latimer volunteered to host their local poppy stand.

Angela said: "we met so many people and it was lovely to see people being so generous and supportive to the charity. It totally made our day and made us feel lifted and believe in the goodness of humanity".

Supporting Trinity at Winchester's Christmas Market

A number of LCPers spent some time volunteering their time at Trinity's Christmas Market stall in Winchester. Here we have Phuong Nguyen and Vic Snowden helping with Trinity's tombola!

LCP Foundation

We're thrilled to share the continued strides we're making towards a brighter, more supportive community. Our engagement with grassroots charities and impactful initiatives remains at the heart of our mission, as we look to open more doors to opportunities and basic needs.

As we approach the end of the current Foundation Committee's term in April, we are excited to announce that elections for the new committee will be held in the coming months. This is a wonderful opportunity for those passionate about making a difference to step forward. Keep an eye out for election details and consider joining the new team to help shape the future of our community efforts.

Thank you to all LCP colleagues for your continued support, which helps the Foundation to make a difference. Stay tuned for more updates in the next edition of Life at LCP!

Get in touch

We're hoping to match a greater number of fundraising activities this year. If you have a charity you're keen to raise money for or are attending an event and wish to fundraise, please contact a member of the LCP Foundation who will be happy to help!

Donation to Charities

We awarded Quick Reaction Grants of £5,000 to Migrateful, supporting refugees and migrants on their journey to integration by helping them to run their own cookery classes.

Additional Quick Reaction Grants were provided to local foodbanks, including Winchester Basics Bank, Westminster Foodbank, and Edinburgh Food Project (a copy of their thank you message is below), supporting them in their mission to combat hunger and provide essential support to our communities.

Golden Buzzer Donation

Our Golden Buzzer initiative continues to empower committee members to support causes close to their heart. This quarter, buzzers were pressed for SCRATCH, Migrateful, Mind, and Sophie's Legacy. Each buzz provides the respective charity with an extra £500 to further their causes.

Each committee member gets two Golden Buzzers that allow them to direct a Foundation donation to a charity they are passionate about.

Visiting Trinity

In December, the Foundation Committee visited one of LCP's partner charities, Trinity Winchester.

The team spoke to us about "Project Kanga", an initiative to expand their short-term housing facilities. They are constructing three new rooms as part of this, offering a warm, inviting stepping stone for those who need it most. It was great to see how our donations contributed to Trinity's wider services, and how our donations support them going forwards.
