LCP in the Community

Find out what's been happening with our Giving Back Network over the past quarter, the exciting initiatives the LCP Foundation have been supporting and LCPers important volunteering efforts.

We've changed our name!

As you may have seen on LCP Connect, the Communities Group is now the LCP Giving Back Network.

We think that the name ‘Giving Back Network’ is a great explanation of what we do: fundraising for our local partner charities and other charities, as well as arranging volunteering opportunities local to LCP’s offices.

Follow our new LCP Fundraising community on Viva Engage for updates on all our events.

Volunteering

In-person volunteering is a great opportunity to get involved and give back to your local community. You can take 7 hours of paid volunteering each year.

LCP actively encourages LCPers to use their volunteering hours, so if you have any questions or ideas for volunteering, please feel free to reach out to a member of the group.

Volunteering with Employee Volunteering

On 29th of August, LCPers and the Giving Back Network, participated in a volunteering event organised by Employee Volunteering. Together we supported Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing by decorating their garden. Activities included weeding, planting flowers, painting, assembling a swing and reconstructing their garden furniture. The afternoon was very rewarding and enabled the residents of the house to have an improved outdoor space to spend time in.

Look out for more announcements on upcoming volunteering opportunities that have been organised by Employee Volunteering!

How to get involved

You can sign up to volunteering opportunities advertised through LCP, or something of your own choosing – just speak to a member of the Giving Back Network in advance to check the opportunity before you take the day (and get approval from your line manager).

LCP Foundation

In the last quarter, the LCP Foundation Committee has been energised by our new mission statement:

"We are committed to shaping a more positive future by supporting grassroots charities through grants that enhance education, provide access to basic needs, and open doors to employment, helping individuals build stronger foundations for success".

We can't wait to begin getting you involved in this and keeping you up to date with our community impact.

A major milestone we're excited about is the upcoming launch of the LCP Foundation webpage. Set to go live soon on the LCP website, this platform will showcase the impactful work we do and help us connect more deeply with our clients and the community.

Thank you to all our team members and partners for your continued support and dedication. It is your enthusiasm and commitment that drive the success of the LCP Foundation, making a real difference in the lives of many. We look forward to the launch of our new webpage, where we will continue to celebrate and share our collective achievements in giving back to the community.

Donation to Charities

We're also proud to announce a Quick Reaction Grant of £5,000 awarded to Trinity, our partner charity in Winchester.

This grant will support the construction of storage sheds for visitors' belongings, crucial for Trinity’s provision of emergency housing during the winter months.

Following on from the recent Showcase events, Tom Fieldsend from Winchester and Michela Monticone from London each won £500 in our raffle to donate to a charity of their choice. We look forward to seeing who they choose!

Golden Buzzer Donation

Our Golden Buzzer initiative continues to empower committee members to support causes they are passionate about. This quarter, buzzers were pressed in support of Alder Hey Children's Charity, Young Routes, Healing Venezuela, Hope for Humanity Gaza and two buzzers were pressed for Child Bereavement Trust! Each buzz provides the respective charity with an extra £500 to further their causes.

Each committee member gets two Golden Buzzers that allow them to direct a Foundation donation to a charity they are passionate about.
