LCP's investment conference: turning turbulence into tailwinds

2024 has been an election year with over 60 countries going to the polls. As well as serving as a barometer for democracy, geopolitics reshaped global trade and economies, creating new risks but also opening up new investment opportunities.

During our conference held in September 2024, we explored what might change in the coming years and how agile investors could best position their portfolios. We also looked ahead to assess whether this new cohort of political leaders would amend the longer-term investment thesis.

Our agenda catered to the curious:

Geopolitical instability: We examined its implications on investment decisions and discussed approaches for mitigating the impact on portfolios.
Reimagining portfolio construction: We took a fresh perspective on the factors influencing portfolio construction strategies.
Megatrends: We identified pinch points and investment opportunities, exploring whether it’s possible to do both right and be rewarded.
Private markets: We considered how private markets were adjusting to a world of higher-for-longer global rates.

We brought together over 250 investment decision-makers and thinkers from pension funds, sovereign funds, charities, endowments, wealth managers and insurers from the UK and beyond to share their insights and experiences.
