International Women's Day 2022

Our Women's Network hosted a screening of a Tedx talk, Dr. Susan Fleming's 'What you can do to reduce gender bias and why you should', followed by a networking lunch to discuss how to #BreaktheBias, the theme of this year's IWD. We also raised money for the Trinity and Marylebone Project charities that we support.

Our LGBT+ Network hosted our first in-person DEI networking breakfast since our return to office, celebrating LGBT History Month

Multicultural Network host an insight day in partnership with My Big Careers

An insight day was run for a group of 16yr old Business Studies students from a local college. We highlighted the different departments that LCP has and ran interview and CV writing workshops.

Diversity metrics become available for partners to enter into our HR system

Collecting diversity metrics from all of our people will help us to monitor progress at all levels of the business, including any trends or barriers by minority groups in recruitment, retention and promotion.

This was an open discussion around our commitment to ensure that none of our people face barriers or judgments because of their Afro-textured hair.

Our Wellbeing Network brought in Nutritionist Jenna Hope to talk to us about 'Eating Your Way to Better Mental Health' and then presented another session on 'Striking A Balance Between A Healthy Body and A Healthy Planet'.

Autism Awareness Week

Our Wellbeing Network with great assistance from Partner Champions provided a week of learning about the autism spectrum, the experiences of those with autism, the types of barriers the workplace can create and how we can provide support.

Mental Health Awareness Week

Our Wellbeing Network kicked off a week of resources, personal reflections and discussions around the things we can do day-to-day that have a huge impact on maintaining our mental wellbeing and mental health, including highlighting the support LCP has to offer.

Our Multicultural Network ran a three-week discussion programme covering race in health, sport and the media, and actions that we all can take to be better allies.

This session shared an update on our commitment as a Disability Confident Employer and facilitated an open discussion around disability.

This was a session where people could sign up to speed network with senior women in the business. We were oversubscribed but had 19 junior people attend plus 22 senior women across all depts and both offices.

Article by Fran Bailey, featured in Professional Pensions, talking about O:Pen, the pensions industry's LGBT+ network and highlighting the importance of industry wide diversity networks

LCP Women's Talent Academy

Mentorship and education programme for undergraduates interested in joining the investment consultancy. This is our fifth run of the programme. So far 119 women have come through the programme, which has led to 9 women joining the LCP investment team

Wellbeing Network host "Living and working with a disability" talk

Q&A with Jamie Harding about his experience of living and working with cerebral palsy, attended by 50 colleagues across LCP

LCP attended the #TalkAboutBlack event

LCP organised attendence for a panel event hosted by the Diversity Project which covered topics including:

- Moving from a change-seeker to a change-maker, self-care and avoiding burnout throughout the process of social change.

- What does being an ally really mean?

- Why are physical role models so important?

OCTOBER

Wellbeing Network and Communities Group launch a joint "Steps Challenge" event

The 2 networks joined together to run a challenge to raise money for the Felix Project. We had a total of 178 people participating, and an amazing 40.6 million steps recorded over the 4 week challenge period

NOVEMBER

LCP attended a play called "Black is the Colour of my Voice"

Hosted at the theatre royal Wichester, "Black is the Colour of my voice" is a play inspired by the life of Nina Simone. It reflects on the journey that took her from a young piano prodigy destined for a life in the service of the church, to a renowned jazz vocalist at the forefront of the Civil Rights Movement.

NOVEMBER & DECEMBER

LCP invited an external nutritionist to host talks for LCP colleagues

Topics included How To Survive The Festive Period and How To Be Nutritionally Savvy including advice around the best way to save on your food bill given the cost of living crisis

DECEMBER

LCP hosts an LGBT+ speed networking event in conjunction with O:Pen

On World Aids Day, LCP hosted a speed networking event for LGBT+ professionals and allies in the pensions industry, and raised [£XX] for the Terrence Higgins Trust.
