LCP's Wellbeing Network introduces new Age Inclusion work stream

Our Wellbeing Network introduced a new Age Inclusion work stream to raise awareness of the importance and value of workers of all ages, and to recognise the unique challenges, barriers and stigmas that people face at different points in their lives. This ultimately supports the development of an age-friendly culture within LCP, so that everyone is able to flourish in a multigenerational workforce.

Multicultural Network and Communities Group host first International Food Festival

Our Multicultural Network and Communities Group hosted our first (mini) International Food Festival highlighting dishes from different parts of the world and raising money for the charity Young Roots.

LGBTQ+ Film nights

Our LGBTQ+ network ran two well-attended film nights to celebrate LGBT history month. These events were open to all and aimed to introduce LCPers to some classic LGBTQ+ films.

LCP receives Gold Standard for LGBT+ equality within financial services

For the second year in a row, we were pleased to be one of only six financial services companies awarded LGBT Great's Gold Standard for LGBT+ equality within financial services

International Women's Day 2024 - Exploring #EmbraceEquity in sport

Our Women's Network hosted a screening of a TEDx talk "Don't call me 'strong' (I'm just a woman who plays football)" by Maggie Murphy followed by a networking lunch in-person and virtually, to discuss how to #EmbraceEquity. We followed this with an external event where 100+ clients and colleagues listened to Maggie Murphy and Kelly Lindsey of Lewes FC share insight into how the club became the first gender-equal club in the world, their unusual fan-ownership structure and what can still be done to improve gender equality in sport. We also shared some of the work that LCP and our associates at Analytics FC had been doing with the women's version of the TransferLab football player scouting platform.

Multicultural network hosts 'A Survivor's Testimony' by Janine Webber MBE

Our Multicultural Network hosted a talk from Janine Webber MBE and raised over £1,000 (including matching donations from the LCP Foundation) for the Holocaust Educational Trust.

We hit the important milestone of 80%+ of our people voluntarily engaging with sharing their diversity information in our HR system. This is a key step in enabling us to monitor the representation, retention and progress of our people and to identify any trends or potential barriers to address as we evolve our DEI strategy.

Aaron Punwani, LCP's CEO, recommitted his role as executive responsible for DEI outcomes, and the LCP partners on LCP's Board and ExCo took on executive sponsor roles for our four DEI Networks

LCP hosts upReach Investment Springboard work experience students

For the fourth year in a row, our investment department hosted students from upReach for a week as part of the Diversity Project initiative to encourage students from less advantaged backgrounds to gain experience in the investment and savings industry.

Multicultural Network host an evening with Shaparak Khorsandi

Our Multicultural network hosted a joint client event with Hogan Lovell’s, with guest speaker comedian Shaparak Khorsandi. Shaparak delivered a talk to our guests about her own experiences and views on a wide range of DEI topics, followed by a performance from gospel singing group, Gold.

LGBTQ+ network celebrate pride month

Our LGBTQ+ Network celebrated Pride month in style with a drag queen hosted quiz and networking for clients and contacts across all areas of our business and enjoyed our first pensions industry conga!

LCP become a founding firm of the Pensions Chapter within the Female Forum.

The Forum aims to create a strong network of senior women in the pensions industry. LCP hosted the chapter's first event, a roundtable discussion facilitated by LCP partner, Zoe Burdo.

Our Women’s network ran a second speed networking style event connecting those of all levels across of all our departments with senior women in the business.

Wellbeing Network host talk on Celebrating Neurodiversity

Our Wellbeing Network hosted a session with guest speaker Daniel Aherne from Adjust covering a range of areas, including an introductory understanding of neurodiversity and supporting our people to recognise and celebrate the positives of thinking differently and the strengths of neurodiversity

LCP creates guides on accessible communications and top tips for hosting inclusive events and activities

Our DEI group created two guides, one on accessible drafting of communications and another with top tips to host inclusive events and activities. These guides have since been shared with others within the industry and we hope that this encourages others across the sector to share resources and make DEI success a truly collaborative effort.

Multicultural Network mentoring programme continues

Our Multicultural Network ran its third round of two-way mentoring sessions – discussions between mentees and senior leaders within LCP – to highlight issues faced by black and ethnic minority employees. This was a longer, year-long programme to help build stronger relationships and support even more meaningful interaction

LCP reaches over 70 Mental Health First Aiders

With 16 new qualifiers, we now have over 70 Mental Health First Aiders that have undergone training from MHFA England to gain a good understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect wellbeing as well as practical skills to spot triggers and signs of mental health issues, support anyone in distress and help others by signposting them to further support.

LCP's Insurance team host Diversity quotas: Catalyst or Constraint?

We hosted our second event as part of LCP's Insurance Diversity in Senior Leadership initiative, aiming to support a diverse range of people in reaching the general insurance C-suite and boardroom. The event was held as a debate on the use of quotas in achieving better diversity and inclusion among senior leadership.

LCP publish report 'The Gender Pensions Gap - How did we get there and where are we going'

Our report ‘The Gender Pensions Gap – How did we get there and where are we going’ was launched in a session hosted by Pensions Minister, Laura Trott. The report was the first detailed analysis on the DWP’s 2023 statistics on the gender gap in private pensions, and has further exposed the gender pensions pay gap, and provided recommendations for the government, employers, and the industry on how to tackle the issue. This innovative report was heralded as a call to action for the government by various publications, including The Telegraph.

Wellbeing Network run Active October campaign

Our Wellbeing Network ran an initiative to encourage all our people to take part and to challenge themselves to increase their daily movement in an inclusive and supportive way.

'LCP's Investment team host sixth Women's Talent Academy

We held our sixth Women’s Talent Academy, a unique undergraduate mentoring and educational programme for women looking to join the investment industry. We have now had 150 mentees complete the programme with 10 going on to join LCP after graduation.

Women's Network host "AI: Who's looking after me?"

Our Women’s network hosted an AI event at the Science Museum where clients and colleagues learnt more about innovation within AI and how it is shaping our lives.

LCP runs second insight day with My Big Career

We ran our second insight day working with My Big Career. This saw us host 20 students listen to talks from our investment, actuarial, insurance and football analytics teams and learn about Interview techniques.

Wellbeing Network hosts mindful drinking workshop

Building on our regular sessions around nutrition, our Wellbeing network hosted two mindful drinking workshops with Laura Willoughby, founder of Club Soda, following by a tasting session where colleagues could try a range of alcohol-free drinks.
