FEBRUARY

Multicultural Network and Communities Group host second International Food Festival
Our Multicultural Network and Communities Group (now the "Giving Back Network") ran our second International Food Festival celebrating food from over 14 countries and cultures. The event raised over £2,300 (including matching donations from the LCP Foundation) for Young Roots, a small London-based charity who work to improve opportunities for young refugees and asylum seekers.

We marked Ramadan
Our Multicultural Network shared resources about understanding Ramadan and how to be mindful and supportive of colleagues who are observing.
MARCH

International Women's Day 2024 - lunch and discussion to #InspireInclusion
The theme for International Women's Day this year was to ‘inspire inclusion’ and understand the importance of allyship. LCP's Women's Network held lunches in our London, Winchester, Edinburgh and Paris offices where we watched Gavriella Shuster’s TEDtalk on ‘Become an Ally: How to achieve gender equity’. The event had a great turnout across all offices, and there was lots of lively discussion with around £800 raised (including LCP Foundation matching donations) for Trinity Winchester and The Marylebone Project.

Wellbeing Network marks Neurodiversity Celebration Week
We marked Neurodiversity celebration week - a week intended to celebrate those differences and raise awareness of how we can support each other. This included sharing access to a range of talks covering a good overview of neurodiversity and some great practical ideas in support of neurodiverse professionals.
APRIL

Buki Mosaku presents "Let’s talk about bias"
Our Multicultural Network hosted a talk and Q&A with Buki Mosaku, a workplace bias expert and diversity, equity & inclusion consultant and coach. Over 170 LCP'ers attended across offices and virtually. Buki discussed insights from his recent book “I Don’t Understand: Navigating Unconscious Bias in the Workplace” and shared a fresh perspective on the subject of unconscious bias and microaggressions in the workplace, along with suggestions on possible approaches to address these.

Wellbeing Network shares resources for Stress Awareness Month
We marked Stress Awareness Month by raising awareness about what stress is, how it can affect us and what tools and support mechanisms are available to help those who need it. Our Wellbeing Network encouraged LCP'ers to take a break or check-in with a colleague. We also made available bitesize life skills books by Liggy Webb in our offices for LCP'ers to read while taking a break.
APRIL
LCP launches new DEI Committee structure
We evolved our DEI management structure to launch a new Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Committee. The Committee is responsible for developing and supporting LCP to deliver and promote our overall DEI strategy, providing DEI input where required and overseeing initiatives run by our DEI Networks. The Committee includes our Head of DEI, Head of HR, Head of People, DEI Manager and representatives from our four DEI Networks.

LCP announces long-term ambitions for gender balance
We affirmed our long-term ambitions for gender balance, aiming for at least 40% representation for women and at least 40% representation for men across our firm, the partnership and our Strategic Leadership Roles by 2032. As we continue to build a culture of inclusivity at LCP, these long-term ambitions reflect our dedication to creating a balanced and representative workplace. Our commitment is not just a testament to our values but a cornerstone of our strategy to innovate, excel, and lead in the industries that we work in.

LCP becomes My Big Career Future Makers partner
We built on our relationship with My Big Career to become a Future Makers partner. Big Career is a charity that looks to support school children from disadvantaged backgrounds, many of whom are ethnically diverse. As well as hosting insight days, My Big Career provides LCP with volunteering opportunities to support young people and provide virtual career advice on a one-to-one basis.

Wellbeing Network hosts Sarah Mayo for Mental Health Awareness Week
Sarah Mayo at Point3 Wellbeing gave a fantastic session on The Science & Art of Movement for Mental Health Awareness Week. We explored how we can improve our mental wellbeing through movement, little and often, knowing a little goes a long way. Sarah covered both the theory and practice, offering great insights and ideas into how we can build natural movement into our busy (working) days.
JUNE

LGBTQ+ Network updates its name
We updated our name from the LGBT+ Network to the LGBTQ+ Network. The Q stands for “Queer”, which is a word that has been on quite a journey. The original meaning of “queer” is strange or peculiar, but it was historically used as a slur against LGBTQ+ people. Recently, the word has been reclaimed and used to cover a broad spectrum of non-hetero/cis identities as well as being deeply associated with the arts and cultural aspects of the community.

LBGTQ+ Network hosts second edition of its Pride Drag Quiz
Our LGBTQ+ Network hosted the second edition of its annual Pride celebration. This event was an opportunity for LCP to celebrate Pride month with clients, showing our commitment to DEI both internally and externally. Set against the backdrop of the Thames at the Westminster Boating Base, this event included a drag queen-hosted quiz with prizes for both the winning and losing teams, lip-sync and singing performances from the drag queen host, and food and drinks.

Multicultural Network hosts Eid lunch and learn
Two LCP'ers hosted a lunchtime session on the significance of Eid al-Adha, attended by 60 LCP colleagues across our offices, followed by a quiz. The session raised awareness of the significance of Eid-al Adha and fostered cultural understanding to strengthen our diverse community.
JULY

LCP Women's Network continue series of internal networking events
Our Women's Network ran another successful networking event where attendees had the opportunity to meet and network with professionals from within LCP, and participate in break-out discussions run by partners and principals. The topics were chosen in advance by the attendees and included accelerating your career, imposter syndrome and overcoming challenges and setbacks. Our DEI group created two guides, one on accessible drafting of communications and another with top tips to host inclusive events and activities.

LCP launches fourth round of Partner Champion and Active Allies campaign
We launched the fourth round of our Partner Champion campaign, a visible, individual commitment by senior leaders to challenge the barriers to inclusion and belonging at LCP. This year we introduced new Active Allies role covering all the networks and our general DEI work.

Wellbeing Network spotlights the Paralympics
We reflected on relationships with Paralympic sport thinking about disability.
AUGUST

Multicultural Network launches coffee & cake catch ups
The Multicultural Network launched a regular informal catch up for individuals from ethnic minority backgrounds as a safe space for individuals to have open discussions and meet colleagues from different departments.

LCP host intersection event on women's health: 'How can we collectively address enduring inequalities?'
Our Women’s and Multicultural Networks, in conjunction with our Health Analytics team, hosted over 120 people for a truly intersectional event exploring the challenges and disparities in women’s health and how this can be addressed.

Women's Network celebrates its 10th Anniversary in LCP Life magazine
Our Women’s Network reached its 10th anniversary and we celebrated this in our internal magazine, LCP Life. It’s humbling to reflect on progress over the decade, for example the percentage of women partners has grown from 18% to 28% over the period.

Wellbeing Network marks ADHD Awareness month
The Wellbeing Network raised awareness about what ADHD is, how it can affect people of all ages, and of how we can best support each other.

LGBTQ+ Network shares postcard stories for Coming Out Day
We had LCPers, from Analyst to Partner, share their heartfelt coming out stories on postcards around the offices. In doing so we also raised an incredible £4,000 (including LCP Foundation matching donations) in support of AKT, a charity aiding LGBTQ+ young people facing homelessness or hostile living conditions.

LCP hosts Showcase events highlighting our Networks and initiatives
We held DEI Showcase events in our Winchester, London and Edinburgh offices to give our people a chance to hear what initiatives and actions are being taken by our Networks and across the firm. It also provided an informal space for people to discuss experiences and network in a casual environment over food and drinks.

LCP's Investment team host seventh Women's Talent Academy
We held our seventh Women’s Talent Academy, a unique undergraduate mentoring and educational programme for women looking to join the investment industry. We have now had 182 mentees complete the programme with 10 going on to join LCP after graduation

Multicultural Network host Black History Month film night and book club
In celebration of Black History Month and this year's theme, "Reclaiming Narratives," we hosted a screening of the critically acclaimed film, Hidden Figures and hosted a special Black History Month Book Club, where LCP's voted to discuss “Girl, Woman, Other” by Bernardine Evaristo.

LCP runs third insight day with My Big Career
We hosted our third Insight Day event where 20 sixth formers from disadvantaged backgrounds heard LCP volunteers discuss their career journeys, demonstrate what LCP does, and help with mock interviews and confidence building exercises. We also trained 11 volunteer coaches, providing over 80 volunteering hours in support of My Big Career initiatives over 2024.

Wellbeing Network host neurodiversity lunch and learn
Our Wellbeing Network held a lunchtime session in our Winchester office covering neurodiversity and a practical discussion of actions we can all take to make our communications more accessible.

LCP highlights DEI learnings and resources at our annual DB Pensions Conference
As part of our networking area at our annual DB Pensions Conference, we featured an exhibition highlighting our internal DEI work at LCP and the work we have been doing to support clients in this area.

Multicultural Network marks Celebrations Days as part of LCP's Festive Festival
Our Multicultural Network helped us explore a variety of cultural holidays celebrated during the festive season, including a Hanukkah talk and celebration. We marked the "Festival of Lights" with a short talk about the history and significance of Hanukkah given by two LCP partners, playing an interactive dreidel game where you can learn how to play and test your luck and enjoying some delicious food!
