JANUARY

Multicultural Network continues its mentoring programme

We launched the LCP Multicultural Network's fourth mentoring programme which ran from February to June. The programme exists to provide a forum for mutually beneficial discussions between junior colleagues from underrepresented cultural backgrounds, and senior colleagues from all backgrounds.

Conversations that Matter series launches

Our Conversations that Matter series aims to cover a range of subjects that are often complex, emotionally charged or difficult to navigate. By addressing these topics through personal stories and compassionate discussion, we aim to create a deeper understanding of the social dynamics around us.

LCP marks Holocaust Memorial day

We paused to honour the memory of the millions of lives lost during the Holocaust and reflect on the strength and resilience of survivors. Together, we reaffirmed our commitment to standing against hatred and discrimination, ensuring such atrocities are never repeated.

Multicultural Network celebrates Lunar New Year

To raise awareness and promote further learning of diverse cultures, we decorated our offices to celebrate Lunar New Year. Lanterns and banners created a bright and inclusive space, and chocolate money in red envelopes was handed out to honour the Chinese tradition.

LCP co-hosts inclusive chairing roundtable

We partnered with LawDeb to host a lively roundtable discussion with a number of trustee chairs to share reflections and experiences about how to chair inclusively.

LGBTQ+ History Month

We organised walking tours for LGBTQ+ History Month, led by expert tour guides sharing LGBTQ+ history local to our London and Edinburgh offices.

LCP supports O:Pen and NextGen event

LCP's Zoe Burdo was a featured speaker for the joint O:Pen and NextGen event LGBTQ+ in pensions: stories and perspectives.

Iftar organised for colleagues observing Ramadan

Alongside sharing information on how to support those fasting over Ramadan, our Multicultural Network hosted an Iftar gathering to bring colleagues together to break their fast.

International Women's Day events

Challenging barriers to gender balance, our Women’s Network marked International Women’s Day with a programme of events, including a lively lunchtime discussion on Mary Ann Sieghart's TEDTalk on why women can be taken less seriously than men, a book club on the topic, and a live streaming of the UK Antarctic Heritage Trust's 'Trailblazing Polar Women' webinar.

LCP Wellbeing Network shares resources for Neurodiversity Celebration Week 2025

Neurodiversity celebration week is intended to celebrate those differences and raise awareness of how we can support each other. We encouraged all to watch our internal resources on Neurodiversity, which provide an insightful introduction to the topic.

LCP wins DEI awards at the InsuranceERM and Pensions Age Awards 2025

LCP won 'Diversity and Inclusion Excellence' for the second year in a row at IERM, for "integrating diversity, equity and inclusion principles into our core operations" and our "active participation in industry-wide diversity initiatives". We also won the Pensions Age 'Diversity Award', beating a shortlist of 12 other companies in the industry. The award goes to "the pension provider, association or pension fund that has shown a true understanding of the importance of diversity in today's climate, either in the way it has shaped its business, its product offering or otherwise."

Women's Network holds 10th anniversary dinner

We celebrated ten years of our Women's Network with a small gathering for an evening of engaging conversation, reflection and connection joined by guest speaker Nuala McGovern.

LCP hosts first Conversations that Matter session on understanding antiseminitism

We hosted our first Conversations that Matter session, joined by Michal Oshman and Rachel Vecht sharing their personal reflections on antisemitism, an insight into the 2,000 year history of anti-Jewish hatred and first-hand insights into the lived experiences of Jewish people living in the UK today.

LCP's CEO participates in research for The Diversity Project

Aaron Punwani participated in Diversity Project research on cognititive diversity led by Professor Alex Edmans, as part of his wider work advocating for inclusive practices within the pensions and finance industries.

The LCP Cookbook for Action Against Hunger

Our Multicultural Network launched our very first LCP cookbook - a vibrant collection of recipes from collegues across our offices and departments, celebrating flavours and cultures from around the world. We celebrated with a launch event to allow people to taste foods from around the world and experience the culture showcased in the cookbook. Through this, we raised £1600 for Action against Hunger (including matching contribution from the LCP Foundation) - a global charity dedicated to ending life-threatening hunger and malnutrition.

Wellbeing Network marks Carers Week

Our Wellbeing Network ran a carer’s week initiative which promoted awareness of the support available at LCP, and gave colleagues with caring responsibilities space to share their experiences.

LCP hosts "Pride is.." interactive exhibition

Our LGBTQ+ Network hosted a ‘Pride is…’ event where the Network welcomed clients, LCP colleagues and allies to join a joyful exploration of what Pride means through an interactive exhibition.

LCP hosts Conversations that Matter session on Islamophobia awareness

We had the second of our Conversations that Matter series in July, with guest speaker Halima Khan sharing her experiences of Islamaphobia, looking at the rise and impact of Islamophobia in the UK and exploring Muslim representation in media, TV and cinema.

Women's Network hosts networking events in Winchester and Edinburgh

To help support career progression and promote long-term retention for women within the firm, our Women’s Network hosted an internal networking event in both our Winchester and Edinburgh offices, providing a space for women and non-binary individuals to network with senior women at LCP, and participate in break out sessions on topics such as imposter syndrome and work-life balance.

Multicultural Network hosts a picnic in the parks

Our Multicultural Network hosted a picnic to provide colleagues with a space to catch up with others from different departments and diverse backgrounds.

AUGUST

Wellbeing Network promotes Movement Month

For our annual movement challenge, we encouraged people to identify opportunities to increase their activity throughout the day and introduce new exercise habits. These could be shared with colleagues with a light-hearted Strava competition and a prize draw for those participating in the discussions. Weekly themes included "post work unwind" and "love your lunchtime".

LCP signs up to Age-friendly Employer Pledge

LCP signed up to the Age-friendly Employer Pledge operated by the Centre for Ageing Better. For our first year, our specific area of focus is age inclusion in our recruitment processes.

LCP hosts Showcase events highlighting our Networks and initiatives

We held our annual DEI Showcase events in our Winchester, London and Edinburgh offices to give our people a chance to hear what initiatives and actions are being taken by our Networks and across the firm. This year, our four DEI Networks, alongside our Social Committee, the LCP Foundation and the Giving Back Network, came up with interactive activities and competitions to encourage even more engagement and support.

LCP's Zoe Burdo joined LGBT Great's Raising the Bar webinar to share LCP's experiences as a 2025 Gold Standard firm.

Multicultural Network celebrates Diwali through Rangoli art

We ran a ‘lunch and learn’ session on Diwali, providing an opportunity to learn more about the traditions of one of the world’s most celebrated festivals. Attendees were invited to take part in a Rangoli art activity.

Multicultural Network highlights Black history month

We marked Black History Month by providing reading recommendations and interactive materials on the achievements, resilience and cultural contributions of Black communities.

Multicultural Network celebrates Day of the Dead

Decorations were put up in the kitchen areas to celebrate the Day of the Dead, including a Mexican style Ofrenda display.

Women's Network holds a workshop at the Marylebone Project

Colleagues made use of LCP's volunteering hours to run a workshop for women at the Project, which helps vulnerable homeless women get back on their feet and move into permanent accommodation and employment. The workshop provided practical training on topics such as digital skills, Excel and budgeting, CV writing, financial wellbeing and interview tips and techniques.

Two of our networks hosted a joint book club

Our Multicultural and Women’s Networks jointly hosted a book club, discussing ‘Lessons in Chemistry’ by Bonnie Garmus. The book generated insightful discussion on how societal norms might be challenged.

LCP holds Conversations that Matter session on Balancing the Midlife Conundrum

We had the third of our Conversations that Matter series in November, where Jo Lee-Morris from Henpicked and James Davis, of the Midlife Mentors, shared their insights and experiences of the challenges of navigating and balancing caring responsibilities, menopause/andropause, mental health, ageism, and societal pressures in midlife.
