Find general pensions help and support
Feeling confident about retirement starts with knowing where to look for information. Whether you’re just beginning to explore your options or already receiving your pension, free and trusted support is available. This is in addition to the information you can find on the Scheme website and My Pension.
Here are some helpful places to start.

Understanding your State Pension
The Government website explains how the State Pension works. If you haven’t reached State Pension Age yet, it also lets you check how much you may receive when you start getting your State Pension.

Getting financial advice
If you want advice that is personal to you, you can learn how to find an independent financial adviser on the MoneyHelper website. These advisers are regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). Always check what fees you will be charged before you go ahead.

Free guidance with MoneyHelper and Pension Wise
MoneyHelper is a Government-run service that offers free and impartial guidance on pensions and money. If you’re aged 50 or over and have a Defined Contribution pension, you can also book a free Pension Wise appointment to talk through your options.

Practical support from Citizens Advice
Citizens Advice offers clear, practical information on pensions, savings, debt, and preparing for retirement. Their retirement checklist can help you think about your next steps.

Information and advice from Age UK
Age UK provides trusted guidance on pensions, benefits, managing money, and the cost of living. You can read factsheets online or request printed copies to be sent to your home.

If you need help with a pension dispute
If a pension concern cannot be resolved through the Scheme’s own process, you can contact The Pensions Ombudsman. The Pensions Ombudsman is there to help if you need an impartial decision about a pension complaint. This service is free.
Call: 0800 917 4487 or +44 (0)20 7630 2200
Or, visit the website.

Support for your Scheme benefits
Your Scheme website
If you have any questions about your Scheme benefits, you might be able to find the answer quickly on the Scheme website.
There, you can:
- Find helpful videos and access Scheme documents.
- Log into My Pension to view the details of your benefits and update your personal information.
- When logged in, you can message the Scheme administrator securely and view a record of all your correspondence.
If you haven’t registered yet, it’s quick and easy to do so. Just visit the website.
Thinking about your retirement choices?
If you haven’t taken your pension, the My Pension modeller on the Scheme website can help you to see how your choices - including taking cash, retiring earlier, or (if eligible) using the Bridging Pension Option - could affect how much you get and when. The modeller is available for most members.
