The Consultation process

As a result of the pension changes that we proposed, we entered into a 60-day Consultation period with all affected employees. The 60-day Consultation period ended on Thursday 26 June 2025.

This included all employees currently paying into the DC Section of the Sibelco UK Occupational Pension Scheme (the ‘DC Section’) or the Sibelco UK Limited Group Stakeholder Pension Plan (the ‘Stakeholder Plan’), as well as any employees who were eligible to join the Stakeholder Plan but have not yet joined.

Consultation started:

Monday 28 April 2025

Consultation ended:

Thursday 26 June 2025

Any members of the DC Section or Stakeholder Plan who no longer work for Sibelco (known as ‘deferred members’) were not eligible to take part in the Consultation process. Deferred members of the DC Section will be informed of the confirmed changes and the outcome of the Consultation.

The Consultation period was designed to offer you (and any other employees affected by the proposed changes) the opportunity to raise any queries, submit feedback and ask questions to understand the changes fully. We also gave you the chance to join an employee presentation too, to explore the changes more.

You can find the answers to any questions sent in during the Consultation in the document below.

Your questions answered

We’ve considered the views and feedback of all employees and have decided to go ahead with the changes as proposed.

We’ve written to employees who are currently paying into the DC Section and the Stakeholder Plan to inform them about the outcome of the Consultation. If you haven’t received your outcome letter by Wednesday 9 July, please let us know. You can also find a copy of your letter in the DC Section document library or the Stakeholder Plan document library.

These changes have also been discussed with the Trustees of the DC Section, who are supportive in principle.

A summary of the Consultation process and the feedback we received.

During the Consultation we saw a high level of engagement from our employees, and we are grateful to those of you who took the time to consider the proposals carefully and feedback your comments and questions.

During the Consultation period:

We received 22 comments and questions from employees.

We held 13 employee presentations at various Sibelco sites and 2 online sessions – all well-attended.

More than 100 of you looked at this Consultation hub.

The written feedback we received was a mix of positive comments, questions about the proposed changes, concerns and suggestions. Broadly, the proposed changes were positively received.

You can see the answers to the questions you sent in during the Consultation in the document below.

Your questions answered

After reviewing all feedback and comments, we took the decision to go ahead with the proposed changes as we believe the changes benefit most employees in a positive way.
